Newman, Ramona (23 AUG 1933)

A pretty wedding took place at the home of MR. and Mrs., Walter Newman when their daughter Ramona became the bride of William Ammerman, Loyal, son of Jake Ammerman of Hillsboro. The ceremony was performed at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. W. N. Grandy. Miss Myra Griswold, cousin of the bride, played the wedding march. The home was prettily decorated for the occasion with green, pink, white, yellow and blue streamers, white wedding bells and cut flowers. A large wedding cake adorned the bride’s table.

Miss Evelyn Newman, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor and Leonard Newman, brother of the bride, was best man. Other attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hengle of Marshfield and little Arlene Oestreich, as flower girl.

The bride was attired in a white satin formal , her long tulle veil fell from a cap-shaped headdress caught with lace and lilies. She wore white accessories and carried a bouquet of pink tea roses and swansonia.

The maid of honor wore a green crepe formal trimmed with green maline and carried a bouquet of purple and white asters while the bridesmaid was dressed in a blue crepe formal trimmed with blue maline and carried a bouquet of pink and white asters. The little flower girl was dressed in yeppow taffeta and carried a basket of garden flowers.

Following the ceremony the couple and their attendants left for Marshfield to have their pictures taken. A reception was held for about 60 guests and supper was served at 5 o’clock. The table waitresses were Miss Lilas Schoch, Miss Clara Piekola, Mrs. Jesse Spieles and Miss Adeline Litka.

In the evening a wedding dance was given at the Spencer Entertainment Park. Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Ritchey, Troy Center; Miss Myra Griswold, Port Washington; Mr. and Mrs. H. Harless and son Wayne, Louis Rossow and Miss Helen Bohnert all of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Al. Swanson, Marshfield.

The bride has been employed as a teacher in the Clark County schools for the past seven years and the groom is foreman and head cheesemaker at the Lakeshire Cheese plant in this Village.

Mr. and Mrs. Ammerman left on a wedding trip to the southern part of the state, after which they will be at home to their friends here.
